This layout represents a fictional piece of swiss line (based on the RhB).
Features include:
Roundhouse Feature
Request stop for local train
You can download the demo layout here. (26Mb)
The package file includes the layout and all the required stock and scenery models.
Download the package file and be sure to save the file with a .TRP extension.
Open Rail3D, and select "Open Package" from the File menu: Browse to the package file downloaded and open the package.
Click "Select All" or "Select New Items" and click "OK" - the program will install the required models and open the layout.

When the layout first opens, you will be following one of two express passenger trains in the layout. This train leaves the main station at 13:50 to run to the end of the layout before starting the journey up the valley. As the train leaves the main station, notice the roundhouse on the left.
After stopping again at the main station at 14:00, the passenger train starts it's climb up the valley. Follow this train until it reaches the top of the layout at about 14:25, passing the other passenger train at the top station (J).
If you want to drive a train, either passenger train can be driven, although the class Ge4.4/3, No 651 on the other passenger train has a full control desk and is good to drive (especially using the joystick control option).
When driving, be careful to observe the speed limits - which are all marked with speed limit boards.

At the main station is a roundhouse, several loco's are stabled in the roundhouse and the freight locos (and the steam special) visit the roundhouse.
Watch an up freight train as it approaches the main station (C) - the loco leaves the wagons in the yard and runs onto the roundhouse turntable, its turned and stabled in the shed.
After a short pause, the loco returns to duty and couples to a rake of wagons in the yard before setting off up the line.
There are three freight trains in the layout. As mentioned above, the loco's uncouple from wagons in the yard at C and visit the roundhouse before continuing duties.

A local unit operates up the line as far as station F.
An interesting feature of this train is that station "E" is a request stop - the train does not always stop at this station, but on a random basis, the "Stop required" lights will be lit, and in this case the local train will stop at the "E" station.

A steam special makes two trips up the line during the day, one leaving the depot at 0930 and one leaving at 1530.

This layout has a lot of scenery and terrain. There are more than 72000 trees in the layout. Despite this, it should run well and deliver frame rates of 12fps or better.
