Layout packages

These files should be complete with all stock, scenery and other models required to run the layout.  To open the package, use "Open Package" in the Rail3D file menu, this will install all required models and open the layout.
 
  Roundhouse

A layout based on the swiss RhB railway, demonstrating various features, including the roundhouse shed.
     
     
J36 Shunt. 417kb A short layout to demonstrate driving and shunting with steam locomotives.  A good place to practice.
     
Welsh Highland Railway (seperate page)
  lIsle Of Wight.TRP Isle of Wight layout.  Includes O2 loco.

 This package includes a modern tram model and demonstrates some features of Rail3D specific to trams.

The tram model in this package, is an unfinished model - as you will see, it lacks some details such as interiors, but the model does feature:

  • Route indicators
  • Single controller (combined power and brake)
  • Wheelslip protection
  • Regenerative/Electrostatic braking model
  • Custom brake control script
  • Articulated unit with flexible connections.
