Clearing Point

A signal can normally only be cleared if the route is free up to the next signal and for a certain overlap distance beyond it. In Rail3D this is simulated by requiring the track to be vacant up to one node beyond the next signal ahead. This node is thus the clearing point.

In some cases this might give an unrealistically long or short overlap. If this causes problems on your layout, you might be able to fix them by inserting extra nodes, or by adding an intermediate Hidden Signal and setting Lock Through on the visible signal.
